Senior Portrait Sessions

Seniors – This is your time to shine! Senior portrait sessions are conducted on location to produce dramatic photographs that will have your family and friends buzzing with excitement. Sessions aim to capture your personality and reflect your interests, and you can build in wardrobe and location changes with careful planning. Many clients like to combine a senior portrait session with a family session. Parents, this is a great way to preserve memories of your family as your child prepares to go off to college. If you are interested in a combination session, we recommend extending the session by at least one hour. Senior portrait sessions are $200 for the first hour. Sessions may be extended by purchasing additional time in half-hour blocks at the rate of $50 per half hour. If you are considering multiple locations, please plan on extending the session. The duration of the session includes travel time between locations. The session fee includes my time and talent in capturing beautiful photographs, as well as the pre-session consultation, photograph editing, the viewing appointment, and establishment of your private online gallery. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to book a session and schedule the pre-session consultation. The remainder of the session fee is due at the time the session is held. The session fee excludes any parking or entrance fees associated with on-location sessions. Clients may pay for these on the day of the session, or elect to have them appear on the invoice at the time of your ordering appointment.

During the session, other forms of photography or image capture are prohibited. At the end of the session, we will discuss scheduling the ordering appointment. These usually occur about two weeks after the session. Your private, online gallery will be made available after the ordering appointment, and will remain accessible for a minimum of 60 days. This gallery allows your friends and family to review the photographs, and facilitates the purchase of any gift prints. The images uploaded to your gallery will be stored by Jennifer Jule Studios for one year from the date of the session. After this period the images may be deleted without notice. Longer-term storage options are available, but must be arranged in advance of the one-year anniversary of the session.

Most outdoor senior portrait sessions occur within a few hours of dusk. Summer is prime-time for senior portraits…and late-afternoon thunderstorms. Very often these, and other, storms produce amazing light after they move through a given area. That notwithstanding, safety always comes first. Decisions related to the suitability of the weather for an outdoor session is the prerogative of Jennifer. She keeps very close watch on the weather and will contact you in the rare instance of needing to reschedule the session. In most cases, makeups can be scheduled to occur within two-weeks of the original date of your session.

Jennifer Jule Studios is located in Waterford, Virginia and provides photography services across the Washington metropolitan area. Travel within Northern Virginia, the northern Shenandoah Valley, and the Potomac regions of Maryland and West Virginia is included with the session. This travel area includes the District of Columbia; Frederick, Montgomery, Price George’s and Washington Counties in Maryland; Jefferson County in West Virginia; and Arlington, Clarke, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Frederick, Loudoun, Page, Prince William, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Stafford, and Warren Counties in Virginia. Our standard print release accompanies the purchase of digital files, and grants the purchaser non-exclusive permission to use the file(s) for non-commercial printing, emailing, texting, sharing, and posting to social media.
