A horse and rider senior portrait session is a unique way to celebrate not just the end of high school, the bond you’ve formed with your horse.

I took this horse and rider senior portrait outside of Middleburg, Virginia.

This Foxcroft senior wanted to capture the beauty of her home farm. I love the rolling hills and the blue sky’s in the distance.

Part of our session we focused on the bond between a girl and her horse. The second part of the high school senior portrait session we focused purely on the girl.

It’s a great idea to photographing horses in a setting they are familiar with. It all depends on the demeanor of your horse. Sometimes it is beneficial to give the horse a tranquilizer to calm the horse down for the horse and rider photo shoot.

Oh, and let’s not forget the other four legged friends. We got some wonderful images of this equestrian and her dogs.
