When you photograph a lifestyle newborn session in the family’s home, it is always important to spend some time with the older sibling. It’s hard to be the older sibling and have all the attention on the new baby in the house. When mom is feeding the baby I ask the older sibling if we can go to their room or their play space and photograph only them. This makes them feel important and the star of the show! Even if it’s just for 10 minutes. It also creates a bond between you and the child. This will be helpful to you when you ask them to pose with their new baby brother. This little girl was so adorable and I love how I captured her emotions at the moment.
